Our Pollinator Gardens cultivate a place for enjoying sculpture within nature. It also provides opportunities to experience creative activities in profound & meaningful ways. I believe that art is also a kind of pollinator.
“Yampa Path” lies at the northern edge of the high desert & grasslands of Surprise Valley in Northeast California, surrounded by mountains. Just beautiful. The Sandhill Cranes nest here in the spring & the views are quiet ones.
Our food supply, surrounding landscape & the human race would not survive without pollinators. The interaction of the hummingbirds, bats, bees, moths, wasps, butterflies & other little critters with pollinator plants are essential for our local ecosystem & food chain. Without them we die. But it's not enough to just survive. We desperately need art to know our own life that we are living.
My husband & I are planting hedgerows & gardens with pollinator plants for the bees, butterflies, & hummingbirds. The gardens are perfect places to draw, paint and enjoy sculpture. Outside sculpture captures & casts back a different kind of light to ponder. The spiral path is a walk to breathe attention to ourselves. Our butterflies, our hummingbirds & our bees all cross-pollinate growing the surrounding environment. With art we cross-pollinate ideas to contemplate. Anyone who goes walking here experiences the high desert beauty that inspires vitality & passion. I hope the gardens & sculpture will connect you to your own journey.
The hummingbirds will be your guide, the butterflies will test your benevolence & the bees will sound your mantra. Within this type of gallery one can taste the conception of their thoughts & soar.
